Cities that have grown in this period are mostly located around the capital city of Riga: Marupe (+393%), Ikskile (+114), Baldone (+78%), Adazi (+75%), Balozi (+73%). Subate (-46%), Ape (-43%), Strenci (-42%) have lost more than 40 percent of their population since 2000. Note: some cities have had their administrative borders changed since 2000, however, the population data does not account to that.
